Hot-shooting Marquette Runs Away from UMASS

Often a shooting-challenged group, this year's Marquette Golden Eagles were lights out against the Massachusetts Minutemen in Amherst, pulling away to an 80-58 victory.

Marquette was lead by senior guard Lance Jack with 25 points, including 6 of 8 from three-point range, and fellow guard Antonio Bachmann who added 15, shooting 3 of 7 from long range. On the night, Marquette hit 52% of their three-pointers.

Defensively, Marquette limited UMASS to 37% (26% 3P) while committing only eight fouls.

Head coach Jeff Grossman was pleased with the overall effort. "We've built big leads all season, but it was nice to hold onto a lead for a change."

Marquette is off until December 19 when they will face 6-2 Texas State in Milwaukee before staring the conference season on December 26 on the road at Xavier.

Good win at home for Creighton over Nebraska. Creighton had a 50-23 lead at the half before Nebraska came all the back before Creighton held off for a narrow 6 point win. Abraham Love led the Blue Jays in scoring with 17. Love stayed out of foul trouble and showed what he is capable of on offense. If Love and Tony-El and figure out how to play off each other we could be the team to beat in the Big East.

Shocking first half display from Nebraska, but spirited after the break. Ended up a tight game, but Abraham Love shooting 8 for 10 was the difference. Drexler 7 for 17 didn't quite get it right, but a close road defeat against Creighton is not embarrassing, although the manner of the first half display is.
