DJs Mock Draft v1.0 part2, The Rest

Post by Dennis »

Image#15 Los Angeles Lakers - Sim Bhullar
Reason: Nurkic + Bhullar = most efficient, best offensive rebounding front court you will ever see. And Bhullar is the best shotblocker of the entire class. Though he will foul out often.

Image#16 New Orleans Pelicans - Damien Inglis
Reason: JJ wont get younger and Inglis is a very good and solid roleplayer. He can shoot and plays very good defense. A great fit next to Davis.

Image#17 Minnesota Timberwolves - Thanasis Ante.
Reason: Inglis would have beein their man! Now they decide to take Thanasis, he is a very good defender and ready now. Well, thats it. But it fits into rhoxxys style.

Image#18 Boston Celtics - Kyles Anderson
Reason: Most likely is a trade up for Boston. For example Clippers + Celtics first or using Knight or Sullinger. Rumors are saying Celtics GM is disappointed by how KA looks, but with Pierce leaving Boston next year a new SF needs to be signed and Anderson is the best wing with size available.

Image#19 Milwaukee Bucks - Vasilje Micic
Reason: Bucks again.. they give it a shot and draft Micic who could become a very solid second unit point that doesnt lose you games but also wont win any because of a special skillset.

Image#20 Memphis Grizzlies - Mitch McGary
Reason: Great high intelligent big with potential to become a lockdown defender. Great fit as a third big man next to Zach and Marc.

Image#21 Charlotte Hornets - Jordan McRae
Reason: Defensive stud who is able to hit threes. Great fit for their team as they need some spacing.

Image#22 Sacramento Kings - Eric Moreland
Reason: They are still missing a PG, but there is just not even one left who would be worth getting drafted in the first round. So they add Moreland and have the best playmaking frontcourt of the entire CSL. Saric + Moreland will help to creat open shots for Doug and McLemore.. if they only would have a PG.. can Lin fit in?

Image#23 Sacramento Kings - Clint Capela
Reason: Back to back picks for the Kings.. Their team is young and thats the reason they take a guy with high ceilings. Capela can develope into a stud or become the biggest but ever seen. Kings dont care at #23 and take him gambling on his upside.

Image#24 Phoenix Suns - Nick Johnson
Reason: Suns have their backcourt together with Payton and Bledsoe but both arent great shooters, thats why they add a sixth man scoring guard who is able to hit the three ball.

Image#25 Miami Heat - Spencer Dinwiddie
Reason: Another sixth man scorer. He can spread the floor and the Heat are happy they found a player like him that late in the draft.

Image#26 Boston Celtics - CJ Fair
Reason: Fair is nothing special, but the Celtics need wings with size and range. Fair provides both.

Image#27 Chicago Bulls - CJ Wilcox
Reason: And another CJ off the board. Wilcox can shoot and spread the floor which could help having Rose and Buter.

Image#28 New York Knicks - Markel Brown
Reason: Slowly its getting difficult.. Markel Brown should be a solid pick at #28. He can shoot, is smart and plays solid, though not great, disciplined defense.

Image#29 Portland Trailblazers - Semaj Christon
Reason: No idea who could get picked here. Christon seems like a solid pick as he could become a smart combo guard.. He looks more like a SG as his handling sucks, but playing SG he could become a steal that late. If he only would be a bit taller..

Image#30 Phoenix Suns - Bryce Cotton
Reason: Should become a decent backup point.. Cant be bad to bolster the rotation with a pick that late.

Another good mock for the rest of he round. Some good steals that could be had in the back end of the 1st round for sure.

Good mock Dennis. I will likely use this when it comes to making my selection.

It's really hard to make a mock draft of the latter part of the first round at this point. Good stuff, Dennis.

Again - great work. I can say this, there are definitely some players in the later part of the draft that will surprise some.

Open to give up sully, Knight, Clippers first to get it done. But it will be difficult it seems.

Damien Inglis seems really interesting, I think he'll be a nice value pick in that range.
