Around the League - Week 1

Post by rh0xxy »

I hope to lit a fire into a discussion on a weekly basis to cope up with boring weekends without Sim. So i've come up with this idea. Feel free to share your thoughts with your team or whatever you want to discuss that transpired this week or anything worth talking around the league.

I'll open it with some of these questions, what's your thought?

1. Luka with 42.5 scoring average to start the season. Can he sustain that throughout the Season?

2. Sixers and Mavs as the only 2 undefeated teams. Who will end up as the last to remain unblemished?

3. Losing the Magic. What's really wrong with Orlando?

4. Ayton and Williams mood. Curious to why they are angry given they were actually winning games?

5. Speaking of moods. What's your bet on how long will LaMelo and Williams stays in Orlando?

6. Who's the most surprising team and player of the fresh season?

7. Despite the talent, the Wiz are still struggling to find the best rotation it seems. If it was you, what would you do in their place?

8. Pelicans uprising! Is it a fluke or for real?

9. Spurs complete turnaround from Preseason to Regular Season, at least for the 1st week. What went wrong?

10. Aaron Epps and Kofi Cockburn still at it. Who will have the last laugh?

If you have something you want to talk about, make some noise! Sorry, i'm just bored and no trade talks at the moment lol

1. Luka with 42.5 scoring average to start the season. Can he sustain that throughout the Season?
No. Typical hot start that will get normalized.

2. Sixers and Mavs as the only 2 undefeated teams. Who will end up as the last to remain unblemished?
76ers.

3. Losing the Magic. What's really wrong with Orlando?
Strats probably. LaMelo should probably be a slasher. Lauri is shooting 7 threes a game at 28.6%. That’s killing the offense.

4. Ayton and Williams mood. Curious to why they are angry given they were actually winning games?
Probably fighting with teammates.

5. Speaking of moods. What's your bet on how long will LaMelo and Williams stays in Orlando?
LaMelo should be gone by deadline. Williams I’d keep.

6. Who's the most surprising team and player of the fresh season?
Mavs due to AI team being undefeated.

7. Despite the talent, the Wiz are still struggling to find the best rotation it seems. If it was you, what would you do in their place?
The only guy shooting well right now is Dick and he’s injured and traded. Well, Tatum is okay too, but there’s a shooting problem, which is translating into a scoring problem. I’d be looking for shooters in trades.

8. Pelicans uprising! Is it a fluke or for real?
Although we’re 2 points away from 4-0, I’m still thinking it’s a fluke. Defense sure is pretty though, and it’s fun to watch Simons and Maxey.

9. Spurs complete turnaround from Preseason to Regular Season, at least for the 1st week. What went wrong?
I’ll have to look later.

10. Aaron Epps and Kofi Cockburn still at it. Who will have the last laugh?
Kofi easily.

76er's Terry Taylor being the starter as a rookie 6'4 center, and excelling, is very nice to see. I had my doubts for him, but he's playing very well at the moment.

Bucks Grant Williams is going off right now. Don't expect him to keep up that scoring volume because he's damn near leading the league in minutes at the moment.

Speaking of the Bucks, Troy Brown!!!

Blazers may have turned the corner and become elite. Might be an elite SQUAD without one true superstar. Love seeing Fultz earn that big contract that was extremely debatable when he first signed his previous contract at a similar AAV.

LA Clippers are still dogshit lmao. Love seeing it. Not as dogshit as the Denver Nuggets and their bum ass GM tho.

1. If he keeps playing this many minutes, sure.

2. After looking at their upcoming schedules, it’s very likely going to be the Sixers.

6. Has to be the Pelicans thus far. Too early to pick individual players imo. Lots of really cool stat lines right now.

8. A little from column A and B. Fluke in that they’re not going to keep winning games at the rate they are. Real in that their sound defense will result in more wins than they were originally projected to get (until they probably trade away some of their pieces for future considerations).

9. The Spurs have a lot of talent and they just beat me on the road. They’ll be fine.

10. Kofi will have the better season/career it’s Kofi of course. But if you factor in where each was drafted, it’s a lot murkier. Getting borderline All-Star play right away from a guy taken at nearly 20 is a huge win for a team looking to contend.

Fun article idea, rhox! Keep them coming!

Surprising team is the Sixers rhox you are doing an unbelievable job with them congrats!

Surprise player is Luka scoring 40+per game is NUTS! He's playing on another level that I didn't see him getting to. Andrew will have to figure how to get that to translate in the Wins column but I'm sure he'll figure it out also.

I am thankful every morning to wake up and get to look in the mirror and not have a retard looking back at me like you do.

I'll open it with some of these questions, what's your thought?

1. Luka with 42.5 scoring average to start the season. Can he sustain that throughout the Season?

I can't see it, and will he be the next Durant with those minutes who has a major season ending injury?

2. Sixers and Mavs as the only 2 undefeated teams. Who will end up as the last to remain unblemished?

Up to the DDS Gods, but obvious wager is the Sixers.

3. Losing the Magic. What's really wrong with Orlando?

Free WIlly

4. Ayton and Williams mood. Curious to why they are angry given they were actually winning games?

My guess is rizzo gave them a promise that they could not keep and now are demanding a trade. Won't impact their season due to the long term contract.

5. Speaking of moods. What's your bet on how long will LaMelo and Williams stays in Orlando?

You can never guess with WIlly. Hopefully he finds a fair trade and get them dealt before losing them.

6. Who's the most surprising team and player of the fresh season?

Agree with some others, its the Pelicans. Not sustainable but great start for them.

7. Despite the talent, the Wiz are still struggling to find the best rotation it seems. If it was you, what would you do in their place?

If this doesnt show the importance in having the game, I am not sure what else will. Will look later into their depth chart to see. But they lost a good bit of talent this offseason.

8. Pelicans uprising! Is it a fluke or for real?

Fluke

9. Spurs complete turnaround from Preseason to Regular Season, at least for the 1st week. What went wrong?

It always seems to work that way. I think the game just has certain teams play above their ratings in any individual sim. So maybe it was the Spurs in the preseason similar to how the Pelicans are currently. Just luck/unluck.

10. Aaron Epps and Kofi Cockburn still at it. Who will have the last laugh?

Epps is much older, so he is at a disadvantage. But obviously Epps has had the bigger short term impact!

If you have something you want to talk about, make some noise! Sorry, i'm just bored and no trade talks at the moment lol

Yeah this is somewhat surprising for a rookie but just a small sample size so we'll see going forward. I'm glad he's living up to what i've expected of him though when i drafted him.

Which is surprising since the Spurs have plenty of good defenders out there with Shaq, Alex, and Carter to name afew.

Thanks Willy. I do think the Preseason had a huge impact with my early success as i've found a glimpse of what the team can actually do but it's still very early and anything can happen in the next couple of games. We'll see...

1. Luka with 42.5 scoring average to start the season. Can he sustain that throughout the Season?

I think it will go down a bit. I would be more worried about playing him 40mpg and I'm sure Andrew will reign him in there.

2. Sixers and Mavs as the only 2 undefeated teams. Who will end up as the last to remain unblemished?

Looking at the schedule, 6ers

3. Losing the Magic. What's really wrong with Orlando?

They really lack talent after their top 4 of Ball, Ant, Markkanen and Williams imo. Without depth it is hard to win.

4. Ayton and Williams mood. Curious to why they are angry given they were actually winning games?

Just weird ...

5. Speaking of moods. What's your bet on how long will LaMelo and Williams stays in Orlando?

Ball should be gone by the deadline. Williams has another year on his contract, no hurry to trade him now, expect he can get a player with similar value.

6. Who's the most surprising team and player of the fresh season?

Yeah, NO is waking up again. But the conference will make it hard to keep it up.

7. Despite the talent, the Wiz are still struggling to find the best rotation it seems. If it was you, what would you do in their place?

I probably would loose patience and trade them all lol. But that sonly me, I like the rebuilding aspect.

8. Pelicans uprising! Is it a fluke or for real?

See #6

9. Spurs complete turnaround from Preseason to Regular Season, at least for the 1st week. What went wrong?

They will figure it out. The talent is there and Alex is getting better. But with loosing ground at the beginnign of the season it will be a fight to make the playoffs.

10. Aaron Epps and Kofi Cockburn still at it. Who will have the last laugh?

Kofi, he will be just much longer around I guess.
