The 2031 Free Agent Class - Restricted

I found some time for a look at the RFA class this year.

The first thought I had when I was going over the list and the teams where all these players ended up. Washington and Sacramento tried hard to trade for all of them. Felt like 50% of this class are playing for this teams now

Overall, I don’t think that is a very strong class. We have some good talent at the top. But starting around position 7/8, I think it goes in an area where I can see only role players without a clear direction yet.
Many of them will be useful, but they need the right roster around them.

That of course is just my own opinion, and this opinion is strongly influenced by who I could see useful on the current Hawks roster. Every GM will feel different about certain prospects here.

this draft wound up weaker than I expected, but still plenty of nice depth to be had

I also remember the hype around the class but actually it turned out to be one of the weakest

I dont remember hype around this class. I didnt like it and traded out, I wouldve took green at 13 if i didnt trade out. perfect role player.

The draft is similar to all drafts very strong at the top than drops off hard. A 20th pick is more likely to be a waste of a roster spot than a solid role player.

Great job as usual. I agree with the others, not a great class. I think that's also good, I mean, having some good classes combined with weaker ones.

There are a few max type players this RFA that will sign real cheaply im guessing.

That's the domino effect of not adjusting the cap while increasing salaries.

I don't mind though. More solid role players for minimum haha

Great work Andre, we do have a lot of RFAs haha. With 3 picks incoming, I suspect most will be playing elsewhere next season.

The top 5 are fairly talented so they should generate some interest but they're not really max guys so could be the class to overpay and steal one of them if there is any cap space floating around.
