Don't worry, I'm not suggesting we move the league to the new game/engine lol.
Who has gotten the new version of this game? What's the difference? Any real changes outside of the UI?

I just tested the demo and Graphics looks nice.
However the community on the beta version seems small and I really don't know when they plan to realease the free-bug version

Offensive system was completely overhauled (it's no longer a set system - percentages of running different systems), and the extreme strategies were nerfed.

In your opinion, do you see PB4 being a big enough upgrade over PB3 to eventually move this league to the newer game? I'm not saying this is even an option but just creating conversation.Jestor wrote:Offensive system was completely overhauled (it's no longer a set system - percentages of running different systems), and the extreme strategies were nerfed.

That's an amazing upgrade, nerfing the all 10s.. And that different offensive system..Jestor wrote:Offensive system was completely overhauled (it's no longer a set system - percentages of running different systems), and the extreme strategies were nerfed.
We should at least consider changing to DDS4 as long as full version without bugs has been released at next offseason..

Re: DDS:PB4
Being completely honest, I don't know. I've been so busy I haven't had a chance to test it in-depth. Offhand, though, it will require a new learning curve because of the overhaul. From my limited testing, though, I do like it a lot better than 3. How it stacks up with 2 (my own personal favorite of the series), I'm not certain.Rizzo wrote:In your opinion, do you see PB4 being a big enough upgrade over PB3 to eventually move this league to the newer game? Re: DDS:PB4
Would like to resume these conversations to see what is the general appetite to switch to DDS4 for next season? I think we can transfer the existing rosters to DDS4 over the off-season and kick off the new season with a new engine.
I have been testing it a bit and I like it a lot - not extensive testing though.
We are still at least a month away but would be good to see what people think. Biggest fear is some bug suddenly popping up in the middle of the season - but maybe worth the risk.
Note this is me talking as a GM more than admin so purely looking for feedback at this stage - not implying anything.

Haven't even touched DDS4 yet but I'm in for the change.. I personally don't like the strategy caps (even though they are necessary) we use here, so moving to a engine that probably would need no CAPs at all would be very good IMO

Re: DDS:PB4
I dont like dds4 At all.. No defensive stats, new added shooting percentages are not worth to be mentioned as the shooting ratings didnt change, the Layout sucks like hell, overall just a bad game IMO. Is the tactics problem solved? Could be, no idea. Anyway we would have to adjust the ratings at first anyway. I wont have time to take care of the database. And to be honest, I dont know if I want to be Part of a dds4 league :/..
Dont get me wrong, csl is a cool league and it needs to be done what's the best for the league. But Im no DDS4 fan:/..

I think the trade off for no defensive stats isn't worth the headache of switching over. I think we need consistency here for a while and that means staying with DDS3. Strat caps can be refined the longer we experiment with it, but this season is much more interesting than last when everyone ran the same strat.

Re: DDS:PB4
I'm with you on this one. No need to move to the newer product just because it is newer. We seem to have the most balance in the CSL history right now with the caps on strategies. I'm sure the more we tinker with things, the better we can make this league. Unless we see noticeable improvements with PB4, there's no need to make the jump.emplep7 wrote:I think the trade off for no defensive stats isn't worth the headache of switching over. Re: DDS:PB4
I do not like the strategy caps that have been implemented, it got to the point where ridiculous lineups such as McRoberts at SG and Horford at SF had to be and could be used as a work around technique due to strat limitations.
Lots and loads of work was used to figure out how to balance the League due to the all 10's strat but it's effected offensive diversity and that is a huge problem to me.
Limiting offensive pace to a max of 3 kills any options of trying to slow down a killer offense thus rendering strategy even more useless.
I'm also still an advocate of using coaches strategies though.

Re: DDS:PB4
Totally agree with a few points here. The strat limitations did make it a bit awkward and lineups with McRoberts at SG are ridiculous and there is no way you should be winning games like that. But also it has been much more interesting (and frustrating) to find the right strat that works for your team. I also like the idea of using the Coach but I believe there are too many GMs against this
