THE 5 BEST OF THEM:
5 - Wesley Matthews: What happens to this dude? The talent is there, the defense is there, the shooting touch is there. He's got the whole package to be an elite 3&D player, yet he can't find his groove anywhere he plays. Now, the soon-to-be free agent Matthews has fallen out of the Purple and Gold's rotation. EDIT: Matthews is NOT one of Lakers' expiring contracts, which makes him a bit more easier to trade for. Tim might be looking for some more CAP relief and the opportunity to offer maybe two RFA max deals during FA, so trading for the veteran SG is fairly possible.4 - Omer Asik: Locked into a reasonable 3 year deal, Asik and Destroy can start for multiple teams in this league, including his own team. His package does not come with efficient scoring, which might be his biggest weakness, but if you need rebounding and defense, he has plenty to offer.
3 - RJ Hunter: Young (22), cheap ($1,6M), plays both wing spots. Won't compromise your D and will score at will at the other end. Can score inside, outside and has an above average mid-range game too. Will never ever force a turnover, though.
2 - Alex Len: Had a career year all across the board last season but regressed to the point that the Suns gave his starting position to Evan Turner, switching to a small-ball lineup. However, he still got talent, and a change of teams can make his play go up all the way again. This all with the benefit that he can be a part of a rebuilding project, being only 23. Impending RFA is somewhat scary, though.
1 - Ryan Anderson: He's a starter in this league, and one of the best stretch fours we have in CSL, for sure. However his play fell big time after his new contract and the deal to the Clippers, which is a huge, huge punch in the face of GM BI, who had faith in Howard - Anderson partnership. It's not totally broken yet, but.. A trade might be on Anderson's horizon, as well as blackice's one, as he's reportedly searching for his next starting PF already.

STEPHEN CURRY, PG, WARRIORS: It's not that Curry is looking for his way out. He's dominating the ball on a young team built for him to do exactly what he wants to. But, they are clearly out of position to contend for at least a playoff spot, and Curry has never reached the postseason in his CSL career. Already at his prime, turning 29 next season and holding an expiring contract, Curry will certainly consider leaving the franchise that once drafted him and chasing a better opportunity for a ring. Rob, Warriors GM, already reached out to the league that Steph is available for the right (not highest) bid. So far nobody was able to accomplish that, but what happens in the future, nobody knows yet. One thing is sure, Curry is by far the best player openly available in CSL, and the best opportunity for a team looking for a star to grab one of their own for future assets and young, great players.
JEREMY LIN, PG, SPURS: Yes, he's injured. Yes, he's lost for the year. But the Linsanity clearly wasn't a good fit at PG for the Spurs, It's not that Lin's injury was addiction by subtraction, but the benefits he brings to the Spurs can be easily replaced by multiple players in a squad in need of a 1st unit boost. The fact that the Texas' franchise have to win in order to keep Kevin Durant and Jeremy can only play next year does not help at all.
A good opportunity for a squad like the Bucks, who's still looking for a good PG to guide them, grab their guy for "cheap". Clarkson, Stokes, Hardaway JR and Tarczewski would surely look great in a Spurs uniform, add some 2nd picks, including this year's one, currently pick #32, and it might be a done deal.
The Bucks wouldn't sacrifice any future in that trade, and a big 3 of Lin, Klay and JVal, alongside a top-5 pick and some CAP would surely make some noise around the league, starting next season. As for SA, Clarkson and Stokes step into the starting lineup from the first day, improving their two worst positions, while the other two can play nice roles off the bench, and the pick will give them a good youngster if Jeff scouts correctly.
