That Cleveland pick has upside given the ages of Porter and Monk, but there will still be talent there with Simons, Ball and Onu. And Josh is too good of a GM to allow that pick to be too high. Nice move for Josh to extend the window a bit with younger blood.

I think on paper Cavs wins the deal, but it really depends on that pick and how it will turn out. For me it’s more of a wait and see before truly knowing who wins the deal.

Great move by the Cavs now tho to extend their window a bit.

I might be in the minority here but I think this improves the Magic more than the Cavs this coming season but not a big Melo fan also.

I agree for this season season as well. Simmons is still a damn good player and should play above his ratings decline. They kind of need to go all-in for this season though.

i agree too, probably a majority opinion. I dont think it just improves the magic more than the cavs i think the cavs get worse this yr. Most players turn to trash at 34 except former MVPs, they still find ways to get it done with low ratings. AD is an example.

Having Melo during my title run I can't agree with these opinions.

It is hard to tell how much weight he had in my roster back then, but I believe he put us over the hump that one lucky season.
After that he was still valuable but not irreplaceable, especially with his max contract.

I think he is not an easy plug and play player, but Josh is one of the best GM to make talent work and I do this trade 10 out of 10 in his shoes.

Andrei went from losing Bruno to building a very good team without him then losing Culver to building another good team without him while shredding lots of long term salary and having all his picks to rebuild after this season. To me that’s GM of the year hands down.

Wonderful moves by Memphis shedding all that long-term salary without materially worsening the team on paper.

Lakers sold Butler really cheaply. Best player in that comparatively minor deal by a wide margin, and didn't really get enough extra to make up the difference.

Coby White is the perfect pickup for Charlotte. Defensive floor general who won't eat shots and provides a massive starting PG upgrade in terms of talent and fit than what's currently there.

I really like the Mobley pickup for Washington. He can slot in at PF while the Wizards decide who their starting CE is.

Bowen is a good pickup for the 76ers, and his handling will be vital to helping Philly win the turnover battle.

Personally, I wouldn't even roster Butler. So I think the Lakers did fine.

I agree with the sentiment that Andrei did pretty well. Unloaded a ton of future salary without giving up any big assets. He could either re-trade those expirings in 30 days for bad contracts with nice assets attached to jumpstart a rebuild, or (more probably) go into FA with a lot of cap space and steal some FAs of his own this time.

Not the biggest fan of Lofton's contract, but he is young and very talented offensively. Nice offensive team shaping up in Charlotte (defense optional though).

Glad to see some Day 30 trades. We all knew Rui was on the move. Really curious to see how he fits in and what type of winning impact he can make.

i like mobley a lot more than lofton jr really good for WSH

on paper bowen to phi is great for phi, but if that takes phi out of the FA market, its one less person andrei has to compete with for the unhappy FAs. On the flip side if rhoxxy doesnt go with capspace itll be tougher for andrei to sign simons or okou as a plan c.

Wow, Bol went super cheap. Great value trade for the Magic but the last thing they need is another center

Known about this trade offer for a minute, and honestly this isn't all that cheap to me, I was a little surprised to see Buzelis on the table here, and Simmons still has some juice left

Yeah Matas really is coming into his own this season and Simmons is still a machine imo.
