WTF? This should not be happening. The team with two of the top three scorers and a top rebounder out for the rest of the season is not supposed to reach conference final. This team was supposed to be out after first round matchup against excellent Golden State team. This team was supposed to be wiped out by ferocious Minnesota in the second round. NO!
The Grizzlies showed that you cannot underestimate the heart of the champion (to quote Rudy T.). We struggle. We fight to the end. We make our opponents work for every shot they attempt, every point they score. We never give up.
We have Mike Conley stepping up while injured and outplaying the MVP candidate Russell Westbrook. We have Tayshawn Prince, Mike James, Ben Wallace and Kosta Koufos stepping up big time and filling the shoes of injured Zach and K-Mart. Most importantly, we have Godlike Center in Marc Gasol who struggled the first few games of both series but then finished off Golden State with 42 points and 16 boards and Minnesota with 38 points and 17 boards.
Now, we are in the Final Four. Another tough series ahead against San Antonio. They’ve had a great playoffs so far – easily eliminating OKC and Denver. They are fighters, like us. They stepped up from a 7th seed to Conference Finals. Two teams fighting for a chance to reach CSL Finals as we are approaching the end of the very first new CSL season. Game 1 at Memphis. Go Grizzlies! Time is now… #Believe
