I don't think the draft team should release anymore info on the class... the players are out now it's time for other people (not anyone who helped create these players) to make conclusions and comparisons

I don't get why you think some people shouldn't be allowed to talk about rookies. Doesn't make sense.

The people who made the the rookies! I.e. Marcos and BIZ
I don't like the idea of them releasing who they modeled the player after, inturn making scouting easier for gm's not willing to look into the ratings or stats over the years

How do GMs scout these players potentials when in game potentials are all screwed up?Mattybriand wrote:Dennis wrote:Why that? lol.Mattybriand wrote:I don't think the draft team should release anymore info on the class... the players are out now it's time for other people (not anyone who helped create these players) to make conclusions and comparisons

Re: BI's Draft Review (Part 1)
Maybe it's just me but I like the realism of not knowing exactly what the player is going to turn out to be. And everyone just kind of guessing I could do without the draft team talking about what a player is going to be like because they know exactly what the player can and will be as Dennis said before their aren't many busts in ddspb3
I obviously mean after the draft has already been completed btw

I think there are plenty of busts. We will get a better idea in the next two seasons how many of Dennis's guys really each their potential

Good stuff. It will be really interesting to revisit this writeup after the season is through. I see a lot of role players.

Re: BI's Draft Review (Part 1)
Yeah my access to info isn't on par with the draft heads so the comparisons could be off. I was also very optimistic and everything was a "best case" type of thing. Could be busts but yeah. I was gonna do a follow up but I'll let the admin rookie heads do it as they'll be more accurate with insider info.

Amazing job BI and sorry for not replying but you are obviously making a better analysis than me!
Looking forward for the second part where the Raptors have 2 players

I got a few submissions and don't want them to be wasted so I'm gonna follow up with Part 2, coming Friday/Saturday.blackice wrote:Yeah my access to info isn't on par with the draft heads so the comparisons could be off. Get your submissions in, I'll follow the same format and input what I get. Players without submissions by their GM's are subject to my own analysis

Re: BI's Draft Review (Part 1)
Looking at Teague's last full season he put up 16/3/6 on 44/40/84. My comparision was Teague with better passing, which would be around 16/3/8. Both Ish (projecting) and Teague are notable for driving and pretty good mid-range games with the ability to breakdown defenses and find the open man. Both (at least projecting) aren't marksmen from 3, and are good but not great m2m defenders. The comparison might be off but "like at all" might be overstating it. You also had the opportunity to make your own comparison but decided not to for whatever reason (no time, couldn't, whatever).Jestor wrote:Ish isn't Teague. Like at all.
I'm curious as to who you'd compare Ish to because like I stated I'm a big fan and think he was a great pick that late in the lotto. A better passing Teague is a damn good player but that's just my opinion. GL with him!

Re: BI's Draft Review (Part 1)
Very interesting comparisons and as someone with insider info I actually put a lot of stock into these though they might be the low end for the most part. No idea, we'll see once the season starts.Chad Ford wrote:Great article!
But those comparisons are completely off.
Green is not even close to LeBron. CLE can be happy if Dray averages 4 points.
Middleton is more like KCP without the ability to stay on the court for longer than 15 minutes.
Nikola Mirotic looks a lot like Paul Pierce.
Jae Crowder is a second coming of Hollis-Jefferson - just with a better shot.
Marjanovic is pretty much Biyombo - just with even lower di/iq.
Tyrus Jones is pretty much Jeff Teague, he's not even close to Damian.
Moore is a worse version of Gary Harris.
And Bojan being Klay 2.0 is so way off.. Dude is pretty much RJ Hunter 2.0.
Mudiay is Brandon Jennings.
