Avery Bradley signs Extension

Post by blackice »

Avery Bradley has agreed to an extension with the Toronto Raptors. Terms are as follows:

4 years, starting at $7,750,000 with 7.5% raises annually totaling $34,487,500 with a player option in year 4.

Consider the rumours surrounding Bradley's market value we are very happy to lock him up for the next 4 years to a reasonable contract.

Over 6 games as a Raptors:
vs. CLE - 6/10/4 w/ 1 stl
vs. NYK - 36/3 w/ 3 stls
vs. NYK - 18/8 w/ 2 stls
vs. MIN - 6/1 w/ 2 stls
vs. PHO - 26/5/2 w/ 2 stls
vs. DAL - 15/3/4 w/ 2 stls
He's also upped his FG%, 3P% and FT% by %1 since being here so he's trending upwards. His defensive tenacity is a given as is his ability to space the floor but he's been scoring at a higher rate then expected since the trade.

Dennis is right, weak competition so far. Spots of brilliance in some games, and just eh in others.

Not a bad price for him though, I think.

Yeah the sample size is only 6 games so we'll see how he does over the course of the rest of the season. Given what some were saying in regards to what he'd end up demanding though I'm happy at the number he's locked into. He's only 23, I expect this to be a bargain deal moving forward. With Rubio finally healthy and DeMar hopefully playing now this is the time to make our push for the playoffs.

He signed earlier than I thought he would, definitely thought he would test the market but you got him for a great price right around what I recall you thinking he'd go for so great job man!

Great idea to give him a long term deal. He is playing great and seems to be perfect next to Rubio.

avery is the kind of player who has always liked, well fulfills its functions currently in atlanta not because it is a team of offensive profile, but if defensive team.

Great signing - better player than an MLE-type guy and you have him locked in long-term.
