Miami had the space once they renounced Bosh, Spurs couldn't pull it off.
I remember talking about teams being wary of their FA going to Miami to play with LeBron awhile back.

Spurs could've easily created the space with a trade or two

I had to make a trade too, I had to do it without knowing what they would decide for Durant. I traded a 1st to dump dirk. Looking back i think it was decided on day 1 lebron would re-sign and durant would re-sign just to keep everyone happy. Although it wouldve been nice on Durants part to say you can renounce bosh after i commit, instead he sent me a message and told me to renounce bosh just to entertain my offer.

Agreed if I was Lebron id say Ill sign if Durant signs otherwise im out. If I was Durant id leave no matter what, the extra 5m over 11 years isnt worth it.

That's only fair to all other GMs. They have to have the capspace ingame too to make offers. Even you ask for an exception, we try to treat all GMs the same. It's fair, no?

Of course its fair thats why i went and did it. I also renounced bosh just to send in an offer for Durant, knowing i probably had no shot at signing durant because both lebron and durant would just re-sign so not to hurt anyones feelings. Lebron resigning with bosh and mayo gone doesnt make much sense.
You still have plenty cap to sign role players. I think that both resigned is related to the lack of offers. At least there havent been many articles about interested teams.

This was the lame and boring way out. Too much drama and hype built up for it to go down the way it did. I don't understand why it was decided so quickly. These prima Donnas would have, and do, milk all the wining and dining they get thrown their way during this stuff.
I thought the PAs were going to come back and ask some questions. FA periods are always dull so this could have spiced it up, even if it ended up the same way. Were the pitches that bad? Would love to see something that a explains why they made the decisions they did and decided against those that offered. No sense in keeping it all a secret.
Now, that said, I'm happy it did go quickly because we won't have to wait around and can get busy now - not that I'm in love with anything out there. . .

We SOOOOOO would have lobbed in an offer if we knew the Decision was coming Day 5. All the Tier 2 guys make their decisions over the next couple of days.... you still have time to make a dent - good luck!
