Army Black Knights – 64

Kris Crosby – 20 pts, 3 reb, 2 ast
Cordell Moore – 10 pts, 2 ast, 1 stl
Mike Kennard – 7 pts, 6 reb, 1 stl

Drexel Dragons – 85

Mike Owes – 22 pts, 4 reb, 2 stl
Richard Carter – 19 pts, 6 reb, 4 ast, 1 stl, 1 blk
A.J. Barron – 10 pts, 4 reb, 1 stl
Phil Killion – 9 pts, 2 reb, 1 ast
Todd Dixon – 8 pts, 6 reb, 1 stl

In what seemed like our first game in forever we got an easy 21-point win over Army at home. Mike Owes, being reinserted into the starting lineup at PG, led the way with 22 points on 7-13 shooting including 4-7 from deep. Richard Carter continues to be our best all-around player as his line of 19/6/4/1/1 from the SG position shows. A ton of turnovers but we run at a crazy pace so I can forgive it some. We held Army under 40% shooting and we couldn’t be any happier with that.

It was the JAG Holiday Invitational this week for Nebraska, and as the 8th seed of 8, we were up against rivals and favourites, Creighton. It was never going to be easy for us, and we went down in a decent battle with a Creighton team full of confidence, and much more quality than mine.

Nebraska 71 Creighton 83

Bernard Lavin scored 13 points in just 10 minutes from the bench, top scoring equally with Ryan Trombley. Kerry Drexler only managed to get 8 shots in, scoring 11 points. It was Trombley trying to make things happen, but his 5 for 19 performance wasn't good enough.
The game was tied at 37 at half time, before Creighton stretched their legs and won relatively comfortable, thanks to a strong team display and numerous trips to the line.
More foul problems for Nebraska, as they now go into season opener against Purdue (7-2) on the back of 4 road losses in a row and in desperate need of home comforts against Purdue.

ARIZONA STATE 73 WYOMING 62 ARIZONA STATE 83 GEORGIA 71

Red hot Arizona State opened the JAG Holliday Tournament with two more impressive wins over Wyoming and Georgia. That improves the Sun Devils record too 7-3 on the young season. The victories place them in the JAG Finals vs. a very tough Creighton (8-3) squad.
Things don't get any easier for AZ.ST. as they jump into PAC-12 play vs. undefeated UCLA 11-0. The PAC-12 features 5 top ranked teams . The Sun Devils hope to at least finish some where in the middle. Top Players are: SG Robbie Johnson 15.8 per game and PG Larry Greene 14.7pts. 4.7 asst. 4.4 reb per game.

no games as we sit at the top of Summit league.

What happens if we win the league? Is there a tournament among the top teams?

There are three end-of-season tournaments for teams around the country and ranked from most prestigious to least:
1) NCAA Tournament
2) NIT Tournament
3) CIT Tournament

If you win your conference in the REGULAR SEASON, you are guaranteed entry into the NIT tournament. If you win your conference tournament (basically a conference playoff) then you are guaranteed entry into the NCAA tournament. Top teams that do not win their conference tournament can gain entry into the NCAA tournament as an at-large bid.

Went 1-1 with a JAG Holiday Invitational win in our first game against Tulane, but a loss against Creighton on the road in a 63-70 affair.
