Pacific Tigers – 55
Steve Miller – 15 pts, 3 reb, 1 ast, 1 stl
Mitch Campbell – 10 pts, 3 reb, 1 stl
Mark Peterson – 8 pts, 5 reb, 1 stl, 1 blk
Drexel Dragons – 73
Casey Lee – 14 pts, 3 reb, 2 ast, 1 stl
Richard Carter – 13 pts, 7 reb, 3 ast, 1 stl
Mike Owes – 10 pts, 2 reb, 4 ast
Al Groves – 10 pts, 4 reb, 2 ast
A.J. Barron – 8 pts, 2 reb, 1 ast, 2 blk
Coach Rizzo gets his first collegiate win of his career over the Pacific Tigers. The key to the game was our aggressiveness on offense, both getting to the free throw line and to shoot the three. We attempted 7 more free throws than Pacific and were able to convert 7 of our 15 three-point attempts. We won the rebounding battle 34-28, which is impressive considering we play a very small-ball oriented system. We also were able to grab 7 offensive rebounds to their two and force them into 17 turnovers. We’re going to love to shoot the rock from deep and if we get hot we think we should be able to hand with most teams at our prestige level and a bit higher.

Creighton-76 Alabama A&M-60
CreightonTommy Tony-El: 18 pts, 4 reb, 1 ast
Abraham Love: 12 pts, 6 reb, 2 ast
Jason Augustine: 9 pts, 2 reb, 2 ast
Matt Hamilton: 12 pts, 9 reb, 4 ast
Mike Wethers: 6 pts, 3 reb, 4 ast
Alabama A&M
Dan Jones: 15 pts, 5 reb, 0 ast
Jesse White: 0 pts, 7 reb, 1 ast
Theo Jones: 12 pts, 7 reb, 0 ast
Leonard Sharp: 0 pts, 0 reb, 6 ast
Solomon Banta: 19 pts, 4 reb, 1 ast
Creighton starts 2-0! Another good game for Tony-El as he scores 18 points on 7-10 shooting. Hamilton with a good night coming up one rebound short of a double double. Our defense played good holding A&M to 33% shooting. We had way too many fouls this game and Love had his second game in a row with four fouls. Creighton looks to start 3-0 next game against Eastern Michigan

Marquette Downs Little Sister of the Poor
Marquette romped to a ten point victory against a unimpressive Texas Rio Grande Valley at the Bradley Center. Marquette jumped to an early 22 point lead before poor shooting from the field and the free throw line allowed Rio Grande to close the lead to ten by game's end.
Marquette stretched the lead at one point to 29 points behind the shooting of Junior point guard Antonio Bachmann who finished with 20 points including 5 of 9 from three point range.
The Golden Eagles next face two more LSotPs this week in New Jersey Tech and Abilene Christian. Marquette will likely not face a serious test before tough road games with Arizona State and Massachusetts in December. Syniker Hart added 10 points, but his 4 for 15 shooting will exactly make opponents tremble in fear.

I think the best part about this league so far is trying to figure out which of our players can actually play and who can't. In our pro league here we can scout the rookies to get an idea of what their shooting ratings are. Here it's time to find out the hard way and see how they shoot in game.

Texas St 68 Nebraska 75
Delighted to get my first win and a win at home. Much better performance in general, and although game was tight at the end, we were never behind, and led by 19 at half time and by as many as 23.
Points were spread across the starting 5, with only Mario Jones (6 PTS) getting single figures. Sophomore Shooting Guard Curtis Clark picked up the Player of the Game with his 11pts, 4ast, 3reb, 3blk and 4 stls. It was an all action game from him, crucial to the win. Point guard and star man Kerry Drexler got 14, but it was freshman SF Ryan Trombley with 16 that top scored, including 3 from 6 beyond the arc. Impressive from the freshman, and hopefully it continues.
Next visiting the Pinnacle Bank Arena will be Austin Peay(1-0) and I'll be hoping for more of the same.

We won our first game of the year against James Madison 88-59. Our rookie sensation PG had some issues staying on the court, but the rest of our team stepped up big time and was very efficient. We have a solid 1-8, but after that its a pretty big falling off. I like the offense/defense we are running so far, but we will see what adjustments we make as the season goes on.
