I did not understand the hype on this kid, which was very disappointing given I love his NBA game. Very one dimensional as a scorer and not even particularly good at it.

A backcourt scoring dynamo who could make Dallas wickedly hard to defend. McCain is a full-throttle attacker who will slash and hit 3s, and is a pretty nifty passer to boot. He will almost definitely not be a true PG due to his handles, but has the court vision of one. Not the worst defender, but as many in that undersized scoring guard archetype, it's not great.
The make or break point is going to be fine tuning his shot selection. He's probably never going to be a super efficient player, but has the potential to definitely get an average or higher TS% as he develops.
