"We are thrilled to welcome His Royal Freshness to the Miami Heat," said Arison. "In our GM search, we sought to secure the best and brightest in the game, and after an extensive search, we found the perfect individual. HRF is exactly the type of leader we need to help build a championship team in the 21st century NBA."
"I'm very excited about joining the Miami Heat staff, particularly during this time in the history of the Heat," said HRF. "I want to thank the ownership for giving me the opportunity to be part of the Heat's ongoing success and I am anxious to begin working towards this new era for the franchise."
HRF joins the Heat, and league, with years of experience under his belt in playing, coaching, and managing teams as well as commissioning leagues. After the folding of his recent league, MSL, he immediately pursued a general manager vacancy where he was managing a bidding war between the Miami Heat and Dallas Mavericks. "Both teams made compelling points and they both have an excellent basketball heritage, however the Heat ownership and fans won me over." said HRF.
When asked about what's next, Heat captain and superstar LeBron James said "No more joking around, we got our GM, it's time to get back to work." The Miami Heat are currently 35-12, good for #2 seed in the East, and are .5 games in the lead of their division; with both the Hornets and Hawks breathing on their necks.
