Los Angeles, CA - Another day, another star leaves LA. First the fans of Los Angeles basketball witnessed their longtime hero, Kobe Bryant, depart for Denver. This news caused many Lakers fans to swap their Lakers season tickets for Clippers tickets. The "other" LA franchise quickly moved to #1 in the basketball market. That might be changing, as fans had their hearts crushed yet again. In the same week, two of LA's biggest stars have moved to Denver for "higher" dreams. Blake Griffin was traded to the Nuggets in a colossal blockbuster in exchange for Ty Lawson, Kenneth Faried, and two 1st-round draft picks. The duo of Kobe-Blake should be nothing short of epic in the Mile High city, if they can avoid joining the "other" Mile High Club.
However, Clippers fans might not need to worry, as this trade could have actually made the franchise even better. If they can get the chemistry to work, this team could very well make a run to claim the division. While it's no secret Blake's epic scoring in the paint will be missed, down the line Faried should be able to make up for the loss. He's only in his 3rd season and shows promise of improving in nearly every category. The big question mark will be if Lawson can make the transition to Shooting Guard. He's obviously a bit undersized for the position, but that shouldn't effect his play. We were told the Clippers are already setting up sessions for Ty to work on his shooting stroke with Jamal Crawford & JJ Redick as soon as his plane lands in LA. If he can work on his shot a bit and alter the types of shots he does take, hopefully we will see him thrive alongside CP3.
