Same Boring GM, Flashy New Look!

Post by Rizzo »

After a one year hiatus, Rizzo is back in his Brooklyn office where he feels most comfortable. With a single season away from the franchise, the team reached new heights of winning a coveted CSL championship. In a sport not known for it's parody, the Nets became the 13th different franchise to be awarded one of the 18 Jon Molinari Trophies (working title for the championship trophy) the league has handed out.

On top of that, the franchise had its on-court leader - DeAndre Ayton - crowned the MVP of the league, another first in franchise history. He took home the triple crown of awards with him being voted as Defensive Player of the Year as well. One other major individual accolade for this franchise was Shai-Gilgeous Alexander finding his way on to the First Team All-CSL for the first time of his career. With two stalwarts for this franchise to continue to build around, not even Rizzo can mess this up!

What does Rizzo bring to this franchise that will keep it atop of the league? His prior experience as a draft guru in the CSL leads him to being a plus drafter, able to pinpoint talent to plug into the roster seamlessly. Wait, what’s that? The team didn’t have any draft picks this past draft? Excellent…

One of his biggest flaws is free agency and manipulating the salary cap. Maybe it is a lack of charisma, but players never seem to favor the pitches laid out by Rizzo, instead choosing to sign elsewhere. Being away from the league, he also doesn’t exactly have a pulse on the value of players. With the team way over the hard cap as of this being published (due to cap holds), being judicial with his signings this off season will be paramount towards either sustained excellence at the top of the league or being back to playoff middler. Good thing there aren’t any big names from this roster that are testing free agency this offseason.

He may not have the charisma but he’s bringing a new look to Brooklyn!!!!

Good bye to the black and gold of yesteryear, going out with a title. It just seemed right that the return of their old GM would lead to a new rebrand of the franchise. With the Nets being the talk of the basketball world, what better time to roll out new courts and new jerseys for the marketing team to rake in some new merchandise money?!?!

No more blah black, we’ve got some crazy splash of colors to catch your eye and get you excited for another title run! Let’s bring the gang back together with a new, hip look and repeat! As long as Coach Rizzo doesn't undermine GM Rizzo's hard work.
