"Well, we finally hired yet another new general manager for the team." Knicks owner Dolan said. "Yeah, his resume looked fantastic though he's been out of the game for a few years. Still, it's a chance we have to take. There isn't exactly a line of people knocking, waiting to jump into this position." he continued with the interview. "So this is who we get, General Manager Norman Mahii" he finished.
And in comes a guy from the back, wearing only a scarf, no shirt, tight jeans, and loose fitting Nike sneakers, holding a clipboard and a pen in his hand, staring intently at the audience as he walks up to the podium.
"Hey everyone. You see this, you see this list in my hand. You don't want to be on this list. It's the list of Jeri-KO. Drink it in maaaan." He says into the mic while holding out his arms to the side.
"So, what are your plans for this Knicks organization?" a reporter asked.
"Hey, did I call on you? Huh? Did I? Do you know what happens when you speak when not spoken to? Do ya.......? YOU JUST MADE THE LIST!!" he shouts at the reporter scribbling something on his clipboard.
"Anyways, to answer said question. My plans for the team are to bring in players that want to win now. We aren't looking for picks or project players, you aren't looking to deal starting players for role players, picks, and cash considerations. Nope. If you have an offer for Kevin Love or Rudy Gay or DeMar DeRozan and it's a package full of spare parts and maybe picks, you can send those messages to our rebuild department right here" as he picks up a garbage can.
"I'm also not looking to just TRADE TRADE TRADE TRADE for the sake of trading. If I feel like the deal is going to benefit this team, sure, let's make a deal. I don't care that YOU think it'll benefit this team. If I wanted your opinion on a trade, I'd ask for it but no. Let's keep it professional...you don't want to be put on this list here. It's got two names on it already. That's what happens when you send me a message trashing another general manager behind their back. You, in the corner, let's here it." he points in the crowd.
"Uh, hi. Have you gotten many offers sent your way since stepping in?"
"Oh yeah. Of course, but nothing that's stuck out that I think would make this team instantly better. I've had some low ball offers, won't call out names because that's not how we run our business. But I had a ton of messages. So many that I didn't get back to anyone for like, two weeks. Sorry everyone. That's what happens when you're a father to triplets. Life gets busy. But I thanked everyone for waiting and being patient. It even got to the point where players were being offered that had already been traded. That's my fault but kudos to those GMs for not waiting around. I wouldn't have either." Mahii said. "Okay, last question, you over there and go"
"We see that Rudy Gay is coming off the bench...why?"
I talked with Rudy, we're good buds now. He understands the situation. I told him it wont be for the entire season but that I wanted to test things out, try to beef up our bench a little, have him be the leader of the second unit but again, that it wouldn't be a long term plan. He's a starter in this league. Regardless of him being 31 years old, he can still score and put points on the board when we need them. You'll see him back in the lineup soon. Look, I've got to go. I've got big important things to take care of..." he finished, tapping his list with his pen.

We also have insider information that Festus Ezeli was the most requested player from the trading block, which has made it extremely hard for other GMs to pry the prospect away from New York. He's currently starting but struggling to stay on the court due to foul trouble. We tried getting in a word with the General Manager, but he just gave us a dirty look and tapped his list, so we left it at that. There were also talks of Blake Griffin coming to New York but quickly fell when they didn't have any picks to go along with the proposal. Whatever changes he decides to make, it seems as if he's analyzing all players very carefully so as to not hurt the team in the long run if things don't go as planned.
