Good things don't come quickly, and our goal right now is to rebuild around John Wall, Montrez Harrell, and Enes Kanter. The previous management left behind some good pieces, so we were able to swing some deals to help with this rebuild process."

Since the arrival of GM Chan, the WIzards have made three separate deals to begin this new rebuilding process. All these moves were made with the goal of shredding cap space, gaining future assets, and compliment around the big three.
Trade One: Sending away Ryan Anderson and Houston 2019 2nd rounder for Thanisis Antetokempo, Marcus Morris, Tyler Johnson, and Jonathan Holmes
The idea was simple, as Ryan Anderson has a big contract, and he's already 29 years oid. The rebuilding Wizards simply has no use for him, so they sent him away for an expiring contract in the fake Greek Freak, along with cheap role players in Marcus Morris, Tyler Johnson, and Jonathan Holmes. Chan really likes Morris's versatility, and he feels Tyler Johnson can become a good rotational player down the road.
Trade Two: Sending away Trevor Ariza, Wizards 2020 2nd for Monte Morris, Aaron Thomas, Jarrett Jack, and Jameer Nelson.
Ariza is a nice 3 and D guy, unfortunately he's getting old, and he's expiring this off-season. Instead of letting him go for free, Chan decided to swing him away for former first rounder Monte Morris, and a couple of cheap role players. Chan likes Morris's game, as he has shown to be an efficient shooter, and he feels Morris can become a good rotational guy down the road. This move was pretty much salvage something out of Ariza.
Trade Three: Sending away Zach Lavine, Derrick Williams for Boston 2020 first, Wizards 2019 1st, Hollis Thompson, New York 2018 2nd, and Phoenix 2019 2nd.
Chan hated to send Zach Lavine away, as he loved his game athletic game, and Lavine has improved a ton over this past off season. However, he is also due for a big extension, and for a rebuilding team, Chan doesn't want to get locked up with 3 big contracts. So he sent the talented Lavine away for one of the best shooter in the league in Hollis Thompson, along with getting multiple picks in return. Acquiring the Wizards 2019 1st was a huge deal breaker, as it gives the Wizards an option to control its own destiny. Knicks 2nd could be decent too, as this is a deep draft class.
Trade Four: Sending away Dwyane Wade for Vasilise Micic, and Dorrell Wright.
The final deal before this exciting trade deadline, as Chan decided to sent future hall of famer Dwyane Wade to the Warriors in exchange for Micic, and Wright. Both Micic, and Wright are expiring deals, so dealing away Wade's 2 years, 16.4 million dollars contract was a no brainer for this rebuild project. Micic also posses great playmaking skills, and his size is very intriguing, so he will get a chance to prove if he is worthy of stay in Washington for the future.
In conclusion, the Wizards are going to take a slow approach to rebuild, and hopefully this will all come into plan within the next 3-4 seasons, which would be Wall's last few prime seasons. Meanwhile it's never easy to suffer growing pains of potential losing seasons, but it is deemed necessary. Rome was not built in one day, and this Wizards team will become a force down the road!
