Blazers land top 2 pick; Klay on the market?

Post by lakeshowak7 »

The Portland Trailblazers walked out of the lottery tonight with the 2nd overall pick via the Milwaukee Bucks from the DeMarcus Cousins trade. Trailblazers brass reportedly had no quarrels should they have had landed one of the first 2 picks in the draft as they felt both Cameron Payne and Stanley Johnson Jr would fill either of the biggest holes on the team.

"Point Guard and PF are likely their biggest holes," one Eastern Conference Scout said. "You can play McRae at the 2, Giannis has developed nicely despite the benching late in the season to make room for Klay and McAdoo is that energy big off the bench you covet," the scout continued. "What they really need is a facilitator at Point and a traditional power forward," the scout ended.

With the development of the lottery, the thought of trading Klay Thompson for a true point guard has become something of a reality for both the organization and for Brandon Knight who may be packing his bags this offseason.

"Yeah man, you know, you definitely think about it once certain things fall the way they do. I didn't play well at the end of the season... my shot selection could have been better," Brandon Knight said while talking to the media at a local fundraiser.

One thing is for certain, and that is the fact the Blazers will end up with one of the two franchise changing players this draft has apparently provided to the CSL.
