DC Weekly - "We Want To Upset Someone"

Post by NanashiWake »

It's been a hectic season, but we've emerged through the storm. Dion (Waiters) has been an amazing addition. He's so versatile on offense, and can seemingly score at will. He can almost keep up with me (laughs). I really want to make the playoffs. I honestly feel that we can surprise a higher seed in the East. As a team we have a locker-room goal, we want to upset someone.

WAS G John Wall believes strongly in his team
With the acquisition of future restricted-free agent G Dion Waiters, and the emergence of rookie lottery selection F Montrezl Harrell. Montrezl Harrell has seemingly be receiving extra practice from Washington assistants and has been controlling the foul trouble that has plagued the first half of his rookie season.

In addition to the steady play of those two, the return of F Nene Hilario to the line-up has added an additional lw-post threat. Nene has averaged 7.3 ppg and 3 rpg since his return. Many compares have lead to the conclusion that Hilario has outperformed young F Jared Sullinger, who was acquired from Sacramento. We caught up to Nene to ask his opinion on John's statement;
I agree with him 100%. John is going to lead this team to victories whether we want to or not. Him and Tristan (Thompson) meet quite often about ways to set up a dangerous 1-2 punch. I feel I bring quite a bit off the bench and that's what's going to make us deadly come playoff season.

Hope I can stick to the 1st spot and we don't match because Wall is a scary player. But well should we meet, I trust my team a lot, and this would be an amazing matchup!

Anytime you have a player like John Wall, you will make it hard for any team to beat you. I think you will make it competitive in the end, but getting the 7th or 8th seed isn't a place you want to be with the way the top teams in the East are playing right now.
