1. Victor Wembanyama, Center, 19 years old.
This absolute freak of nature is the consensus number one draft pick in almost all mock drafts, and it's almost a no brainer when you look at his combination of size, athleticism, skillset, and versatility. This guy is simply a freak of nature on both ends of the floor. Offensively he already has a well seasoned bag of post moves, he can also step outside and hit mid range shots consistently. He even has shown a good enough shooting stroke to where he can extend his range all the out to the 3 point line.
He also has amazing hand eye coordination for a guy that's 7'4, as he can put the ball on the floor and even become a secondary playmaker when called upon on. This is what makes this guy such a freak of nature that can literally do it all. Wemby also has good rebounding ability, and has potential to be a top notch rim protector in this league. Unlike a lot of big time rim protectors, Wemby has really good timing and will rarely commit stupid fouls. The only weakness might be his lack of weight, as a 204 lbs post will get bullied by all the CSL bigs. However with some good strength and conditioning program in the CSL, Wemby should become a force to be reckon with for years to come.
2. Keegan Murray, Small Forward, 22 years old.
The 6'8 small forward from Iowa reminds me a lot of MJ Walker on the Houston Rockets, as Murray is a similar type of 2 way wing that can pretty much do it all on the court. Offensively Murray can score from all areas of the court, and has potential to be a lethal sniper from downtown. He's also a good rebounder for a wing, and has shown some serious upside as a top tier man to man defender.
Murray can also handle the ball well for a SF, and has quick hands that will allow him to pick up a lot of off ball/on ball steals as well. Murray should be a guy that coaches will want to assign to against opponent's top scorer, as Murray should be a disruptive force that won't make many mistakes on the defensive end. The only weakness Murray has might be his lack of scoring creation ability. Even then he isn't even close to suffer from the PJ Hairston syndrome, but he won't be an alpha option like a Miles Bridges. Murray should be a perfect 2nd/3rd option on a contending team. Overall Murray is a prototype of modern day 2 way wing that can make his presence known on both ends of the court. Similar to Walker, if Murray can get that +10 boost, then you will have a perennial all star in your hands for years to come.
3. Jalen Suggs, Point Guard, 20 years old.
While some draft experts will argue that Cade Cunningham is the best PG prospect in this class, personally I am a bit more intrigued by Jalen Suggs. Standing at 6'4, 205 lbs, Suggs has a strong frame to be a modern day version of a bully guard. Offensively Suggs is definitely more of a pass 1st type of point guard, as he is a guy that will like to use his great handles and superior basketball IQ to drop dime passes for his teammates. Suggs is a solid finisher inside for a guard, and can even throw down some nice dunks on the break. Suggs currently has a solid mid range game, and many scouts feel he can extend his range all the way out to the CSL 3 point line.
What makes Suggs truly unique is his insane ability to crash the boards on both ends of the floor. Suggs uses his big frame well and is absolutely relentless on the boards. His rebounding is so good that many bigs in the CSL wishes they have his instincts and positioning. Suggs should be a constant triple double threat that reminds me a bit of Jaylen Adams from the Indiana Pacers. Defensively Suggs has serious potential that can lead him to be a constant fixture on the All CSL Defensive teams. Suggs has quick hands, and has immaculate timing combine with his long wingspan that makes him a monster at swiping for steals. Suggs does have a tendency to get into foul trouble at times by being overly aggressive on defense, and he won't ever be a guy you will want to rely on to create his own shots. However, Suggs has a very unique 2 way game for a PG, and I think this guy will be a modern Jason Kidd type of player if developed properly.
