It's true, I'm not going to be drinking poolside anytime soon (laughs). Literally day 2 on the job I was already preparing for this off-season. I feel a lot of people aren't really looking at our entire position at the moment. When I stated a few weeks back that we plan on adding a young post scorer to this squad, I was saying it with certain players in mind. Now of course due to CSL rules I am not allowed to discuss which players exactly we are interested in yet, but I can guarantee that during the off-season we will be publicly showing our interest for these players. Most of my peers probably assume that that big man must come from our 14th selection in the draft, and it very well could. Although I feel that our $15 million free in cap space could play a huge factor as well.
GM NanashiWake
So it seems that NanashiWake is going to be doing his best college coach impression by attempting to recruit a star player to Washington DC and join the Wizards franchise. Many individuals have been speculating that perhaps small forward Otto Porter will be moved to acquire the aforementioned big man, but reports from our anonymous sources state otherwise. In fact, they have confirmed that there has been more trade discussion involving shooting guard Bradley Beal who was thought to be untouchable and a staple in future Wizards line-up alongside teammate and good friend John Wall.
So with only minimal information available at the moment as to who the Wizards are looking into, we must consider what type of player would fit in with head coach George Karl's play-style. Currently coach Karl has been playing Otto Porter at the power forward position and going small ball. Although Porter has yet to verbally disapprove of the change, it has been an up-and-down mixture of results thus far.
Acquiring a low post scorer that can possibly stretch the floor and shoot out to the 15 ft. range should be highly valued for the Wizards. It will bring a more versatile look to their sometimes stagnant offense, and also allow Otto Porter to return to his comfortable small forward position. A small, yet important trait for this big man would also be if they are able to keep up with John Wall's pace of the game. John Wall is known to always play at 100% and being one of the fastest guys on the court in the entire CSL is great, but only if the other four members on the floor are on the same page. A young forward similar to Nene's playstyle would be a welcome addition. Nene sadly suffered a season-ending injury while the Wizards were attempting to secure the 8th playoff spot, but still expected to return next season and contribute heavily as it is a contract year for him.

So it was a hectic couple weeks to finish the season as the Wizards attempted to surpass the Pacers and Bulls into the playoffs, but unfortunately for them they fell slightly short due to a tiebreaker. Now, the focus has changed and the Wizards are looking to improve off their 47 wins and become contenders for years to come in the East.
