Hi guys,

Not sure where to post this but I will go with CSL insider.
As discussed before in league ideas, I was gathering awards data from last year and the beginning of the CSL. Thanks to Dennis and Sky, these awards are now on the forum and it really facilitated my work.

Let me introduce you the Dynasty Tracker.

What is it?

It is a simple tracker which record all achievements of a team. The formula is pretty simple, it combines victories, playoffs performance, end-season awards and all-star selection.
Objective is to track the best team over the years. I usually use it when playing solo in order to try staying at the top the longest possible and identify the best teams of a decade.
I believe it also a good indicator for a multiplayer league and I will update it every year to see which teams are distinguish themselves from others

What is the formula?

As said before, it is pretty simple.
Victory : You get 1 point by win (only regular season)
Playoffs : Depends how you perform. If you don’t pass the first round (7pts), if you get eliminated in 2nd round (15pts), If you lose in conference final (25pts), if you lose in finals (35pts) and finally if you win the finals (50pts)
Awards : MVP (5pts), GM of the Year (5pts), 6th man (3pts), ROY (3pts) and DPY (3pts)
Teams : 1 point by appearance (1st, 2nd, 3rd All CSL teams, 1st, 2nd Defensive CSL teams and 1st, 2nd Rookie CSL teams)
All Star : 2 points by player

Let’s see Indiana as example since they are currently leading the ranking.
Last year they got 119pts : 65 (victories) + 50 (champion) + 2 (P.George All Star) + 1 (P.George All CSL Team) + 1 (P.George Defensive Team)

As you can see Playoffs are the real deal and tanking few years before reaching the top may cause you lot of points. Moreover a huge star who will insure All Star + All CSL team every year is a good point investment.

#1 Indiana still at the top with 162pts but a non-qualification for playoffs this would make them lose couple of spots
#2 Detroit got 144 pts – 2 solid seasons, conference final last year and 10 pts via the all-star game (record of the league)
#3 Memphis follow behind with 134 pts – Final appearance brought them 35 pts last year
#4 Atlanta and their 109 accumulated win in regular season (1st) and 8 pts via All-star allow them to stay in the leadership (133 pts)
#5 Oklahoma City. Disappointing playoffs last year but a MVP (5), 3 pts via all teams and 8pts via all-star ensured them a good spot. (128 pts)

Then we have Boston (121)and Denver (117). Milwaukee close the ranking with 21 pts (21 victories combined, no reward).

I have an excel table ready and easy to update.
Dennis also provided me the 'Table maker" for the forum which save me a lot of time.

I already heard about the tracker. It is definitely a good way to assess the performance of teams over a certain span of time.
The "Excelopathy" of Chili does have bright sides!
Will there be an annual release of the tracker from now on?

Excel is a friend, not a sickness!

Yes. I will soon upload the first season and of course the second season once Playoffs and awards are over

I teach middle school computers and I love Excel! Such a great tool. Unfortunately my students don't feel the same way lol.

Just not sure what we are able to achieve this POs. From first round exit to the title everything is possible.

Great work man! I also use excel a lot and it is a really helpful tool for those who knows how to use it. I actually have some sheets about league which I use for keeping my Submatrix, DC, Philosophies, and stats from my team.. Just to make it better..

As for the ranks we're at 15th but hopefully we're going to increase our ranks when we get our first ring later this season

Question on All-Stars - Big Al was selected this year but did not play due to injury. Are we getting the points for him?

I took the initial selection so the points were counted.
However they were allocated to Charlotte since he played more games for the Hornets at that time. If M. Gasol was selected, you would have get the all-star points

That said being at the bottom sucks and will be all the more satisfying when we start climbing the chart!

Could each GM give me his nationality so I will incorporate into the ranking.
