November Review - New York Knicks

The Knicks when 8-6 for the month of November

After having a great pre-season the Knicks come out of the gates with two loses a heartbreaker on the road against Washington 122-124 and come home and lose against Sacramento 88-100 that was not the way Coach Keene had envisioned the season starting. Tinkering with the lineup and minutes the Knicks take the next two at home a win over the Clippers 120-97 then they beat Detroit 102-94 that gets them to .500 and playing some good basketball. The next game the Knicks go on the road to Cleveland and fall flat on their faces losing 97-72.

With defense being the big issue for New York so Coach Keene pulls off a trade with Philadelphia sending PF Amar Stoudemire and a 1st round pick for PF Thaddeus Young. The League thought the Knicks gave away to much with adding the 2015 1st round pick a (POSSIBLE) lottery. Coach Keene did not see it that way he saw Young come in more for his defense than his scoring ability. It gave the Knicks a very defensive minded front court with Chandler and Young

The Knicks go on the win the next two games holding Orlando (at home) and Cleveland (on the road) under 85 points and the coach likes the defensive effort. The Hawks come to town for a (home and home games) we win at home 114-113 then we go to Atlanta and lose 110-126 both games where shot outs everyone was scoring. The Knicks then go on a 3 game win streak beating Milwaukee, Brooklyn and Phoenix by almost 30 point each. The Knicks lose the last 2 games of the month to the Lakers and Warriors.

Summing up the month of November Coach Keene gives it a C+ "we can do better" The Knicks played better defense after the trade, Rookie Roy Marble has been impressive so far, cutting the minutes down for Melo helps keep him fresh for the end of the game and getting JR Smith back also helped with scoring off the bench.
There's still couple moves that need to be done but the goal is making the Playoffs

Your team is playing much better than I expected. With Rose going down and you outperforming expectations, won't be easy to steal Melo during Free Agency, but we can always try
Marble JR is a helluva player, guy can shoot and D with the best of them.

Very good start into the season.. And you guys need to make a run this year to be able to keep Melo.. With that said, you have to keep up the great work (though I dont mean it as I dont want a division opponent to become stronger haha).

I agree. This team is major surprise and you got them playing really well. We are coming to the big apple next so hoping to slow you down a bit. Would be a huge road win for us

I'm glad to see the Knicks have a dedicated GM and are performing so well. I wish I could have stuck it out in NY with this team but life got in the way. I'll be secretly pulling for you to do some special things with the Knicks.

Yeah I'm a diehard Knick fan in real life so it's nice to see the team is coming together and playing well.

Only thing I've to say here is: marble was our target at 28 last draft. We wanted him to be our starting SF. Well at 27 he was headed to NY. Sad story!

Man, I feel sorry for a diehard Knick fan these days. Whats happening in NYK in NBA is a disaster. Phil not working out and now rumours that Melo's knees are busted. I heard even surgery will not be able to fix and he will turn into Amare/Bynum sooner rather than later...
