2032 CSL Rookie Rankings

Post by rh0xxy »

Rookie Watch - First Edition

Ok, these are, in my opinion, are the best rookies so far. Feel free to object if you have a much better list.

5. Leaky Black

A surprise pick later in the 1st round, Leaky has been remarkable for his standard. Not known for his scoring abilities, LB is scoring just in the shade of 10 a game. He has started 19 games for the Magic and running 2nd among freshmen in minutes played per game at over 32 MPG.

4. Terry Taylor

Surprised starter Terry Taylor is best among this class in minutes per game with 33.7 MPG. He is also currently topping the rebounding battle among his peers with 10.2 boards a game. Who would have thought?

3. Anthony Black

A draft day trade but primarily considered a wasted chance to get a much hyped talent, proved to be a great work by Newly minted GM JMcball. AB, the 6th overall pick, is coming on his own producing double digits in scoring and in just below 24 minutes of play. His 45% field goal is outstanding for a rookie as well. He has been playing mostly at SF and started 7 of the first 18 games for the upcoming purple and yellow.

2. Markquis Nowell

Another draft day trade to move up proved to be a masterful job by GM Jon. Arguably, the steal of the Draft, the 8th overall pick, is one of a few in this class to average double digits in scoring and currently the 2nd top scorer of this batch with his 13.2 points average. He also grabbing 3.5 boards and assisted 5.3 dimes for the rebuilding Thunder. He's now injured but expect him to be back on a full swing right after that.

1. Karlo Matkovic

Matkovic is slowly gaining momentum and looked to establish a gap in the race. Currently, number one in scoring average among rookies at 13.9 pts. He is also making his presence felt in the paint with 2.1 blks and
6.4 rebounds in 18 games, mostly coming off the bench. With the recent trade, releasing Wendell Carter, expect more minutes for this up and coming stud.

Honorable mentions:

Paolo Banchero
EJ Onu
Johnny Juzang
Oliver-Maxence Prosper
Dyson Daniels
Braxton Key
Chet Holmgren
Cam Thomas
Philadelphia 76ers

Rookie article yes!

Leaky Black is shooting 43.3% from the field 41.7% from downtown and a surprise thus far! He's doing really well for us in his "defend spot up shoot the 3 and don't jack up shots from the stars" role!

#27 Pick Leaky Black being ranked only 2 spots behind #6 Pick Anthony Black is great and very glad I made the trade as its working out for both us and the Lakers cause like Wesley Snipes said "always bet on Black"!

ORLANDO
MAGIC:
PG J Giddey | SG Christian Braun | Mikal Bridges |
PF Victor Wembanyama | C Alex Sarr

Had to check the stats of these guys but seems about right.

Matkovic looks like the front runner so far. The top picks from the draft are either not ready or not having enough of an impact but he looks great so far. Nowell too in OKC.

Black and Taylor to round out and I'm super surprised at Leaky. Kid has a 33 scoring rating haha but still putting up over 9 points a game. I'd probably have Banchero ahead of him as he does a lot more or maybe Juzang but he's also only a one trick pony.

I feel if we do end up trading Waters and Daniels does start, he'll move up these rankings a little with the additional exposure.
