One more year with Diaw at the helm. He successfully managed last season a change in offensive style while keeping the team’s defense at the top of the league. No one questions in Milwaukee Diaw’s decisions anymore.
Patty Mills / First Assistant / 45
Mills will start his fourth season as the Bucks first assistant. He succeeded in his goal of mentoring rookie Miles McBride, who was a key piece in the Bucks season. With him and Tyrell Terry Mills has two talented young point guards to work with.
Darvin Ham / Second Assistant / 57
Ham will start his second season with the Bucks as the second assistant coach. He was brought in last year to improve the team's transition in offense and he achieved that. Now it’s time to build on that with some new pieces on the roster.
Aaron McKie / Third Assistant / 58
It’s also the second season in Milwaukee for McKie, the team’s third assistant coach. He was assigned the task to make the team the best defense in the CSL and he clearly excelled in that regard.
#1 Tyrell Terry / PG / 20 / 6'2" / 166 lbs
Terry enters his third year as a pro, which is usually a key season when a player establishes in the league. He has shown his great shooting skills and his elite game vision. It is now time to build on that and confirm what everyone in Milwaukee wishes to see from the still 20-year-old player.
#2 Miles McBride / PG / 21 / 6'2" / 196 lbs
After a fantastic rookie season McBride enters his sophomore campaign, well-known to be the more difficult for a CSL player. He has shown the potential to run an offense, hit three-pointers and play elite defense. The coaching staff is extremely cautious and no one wants to put too much pressure on him, but he will surely have minutes to play during the season.
#3 Grant Williams / PF / 27 / 6'7" / 230 lbs
Williams first season as a Buck was a success beyond his numbers. Not only did he took some of the scoring load off Brown’s shoulders, but he provided the rebounding the team had been missing since trading Wendell Carter and was elite on the defensive end. Now that he is more familiar with the system and his teammates, big things are expected from him this year.
#5 DaQuan Jeffries / SF / 22 / 6'5" / 222 lbs
Jeffries was selected in the second round and may start the season in the D-League. After trading long time favourite Dikembe Dixson, the Bucks Front Office saw a similar player in Jeffries and decided to make a trade to draft him. A very good defender with a strong physical build.
#6 Troy Brown / SG / 28 / 6'7" / 200 lbs
One can only wonder what would have happened if Brown had not missed two months with a broken leg. He just signed a five-year max deal to stay in Milwaukee and now that Thon Maker is no longer a Buck, Brown is the new team captain. One of the few elite two-way guards in the CSL, he is ready to take the Bucks to the next level. The Front Office has been doing a good job adding three-point shooters who fit Brown’s strengths in the last two offseasons. Now it is time to see how all these pieces play together.
#10 Daniel Gafford / PF / 28 / 6'11" / 222 lbs
Regardless of media players list and awards, Gafford is one of the true elite defensive big men in the CSL, coming off a career-high 3.2 blocks per game season. He changes the game as few others do and his versatility allows him to guard any frontcourt position. Still 28, he is at the peak of his game.
#11 Tariq Owens / PF / 26 / 6'10" / 230 lbs
Owens has been the Bucks biggest acquisition this summer. A player who was targeted by the scouting department while he was a draft prospect. His great offensive skills will merge well with the best defense in the league, at least on paper. He will play as a hybrid forward and everyone expects him to be a key player in the upcoming season.
#12 Isaiah Livers / SF / 26 / 6'7" / 232 lbs
So far Livers has not fulfilled expectations. He is on a contract year which will define his future in the league. A place in the rotation is not easy given the high quality of the roster, but he will sure find minutes here and there. He has the scoring instinct, but his efficiency has been subpar the last two seasons.
#14 Tyler Herro / SG / 26 / 6'5" / 186 lbs
Another of the new faces on the roster, Herro’s role is to provide three-point shooting. At age 26, Herro is entering his prime. While not a secondary playmaker by any means, his handles are solid enough to be more than just a spot up shooter. His defense is a bit of a question mark, but he is expected to not be a complete liability there. His pre-season performance has been very good and the coaching staff is excited about his potential contribution.
#20 Rayshaun Hammonds / PF / 28 / 6'8" / 228 lbs
Hammonds will start his sixth season with the Bucks. While he is not a main rotation player, his elite defensive rebounding always finds him minutes on key games, as it happened in the last playoffs. He is also the ultimate definition of a team player, who always accepts his role on the team and works hard every minutes he is on the court.
#23 Mitchell Robinson / C / 28 / 7'0" / 229 lbs
Robinson is another specialist who has a very defined role on the team: play defense and alter shots in the paint. He is entering a contract year, which will be an extra motivation to show his value when on the court.
#31 Dzanan Musa / SF / 28 / 6'9" / 195 lbs
Musa will start his second season in Milwaukee. He has shown that he can contribute in most areas of the game: rebounding, playmaking, defense. He has not been much efficient scoring the ball, but he has been transitioning to a three-point shooter role, minimizing his field goal attempts and complementing Brown’s game. He is a key piece for the team and, despite what others may think, a core player for Boris Diaw.
#43 Enzo Shahrvin / PF / 21 / 6'7" / 226 lbs
Shahrvin spent his rookie season in the D-League, but was suddenly called to play against the Brooklyn Nets in the first round of the playoffs. He is an amazing defender, as the preseason has just shown. He can alter shots and disrupt passing lanes, a combination that not many players are capable of providing at such a high level.
#50 DJ Wilson / PF / 30 / 6'10" / 226 lbs
Another free agent signing, DJ Wilson has a long pro career. A versatile hybrid forward who provides great defense and can shoot from three-point range. He fits well with the team philosophy, but he may need time to find his role within the team. The goal for him is to peak during the playoffs, as a good veteran.
#54 Henry Ellenson / PF / 32 / 6'11" / 214 lbs
Ellenson returns with another one-year deal to Milwaukee. His first season was a success, even beyond expectations, stretching the floor with his three-point shooting ability. While a year older he can still provide that role for the team, even on limited minutes.
These are the 2032/33 Milwaukee Bucks. The goal is to improve from last season’s second round exit. In such a wide-open Eastern Conference anything can be expected.
