Season Review : Disappointment over relief

Sixers Late Season Review

Prior to the season started, a change of management transpired as GM Rox got appointed as the new General Manager of the team in favor of former World Champ Marcos Beck.

Pinned by most experts as likely Play-in contender, with some even predicted as a cellar dweller. The Sixers felt relieved once the season started and proved doubters wrong. The Sixers jumped off the gate, even led the league standings for some weeks before settling down.

The backcourt combo of Morant and Mitchell did wonders, silencing naysayers that they won't compliment each other's game. Backed up by the trio of big men in Caleb Swanigan, Bam Adebayo, and Zach Collins with super Sophomore Tyrese Maxey, the Sixers took the league by surprise.

Then, trade deadline deal happened in what was, perhaps the last piece of the puzzle when they acquired Malik Monk from New Orleans, though at the expense of fan favorite Tyrese Maxey, and Zach Collins.

From there, the Sixers overtook the Nets for Division crown and finished 2nd overall in the Regular Season. Then comes the Playoffs.

The Sixers fitted with the Boston Celtics in the 1st round. Interestingly, the Sixers got swept by the Celts in the Regular Season but having home court and the motivation for a payback (Celts elimated rh0xxy's Bulls in the 2nd round the season prior), the Sixers went on to beat the Celtics in 5 games.

Next round was against the highly motivated Milwaukee Bucks, who slayed the defending Champion Brooklyn Nets in 6 games. Unlike in the 1st round, the Sixers have the upperhand in regular season head to head, sweeping all 4 games. In the end, another sweep for the Sixers to moved on to the Conference Finals.

Then came the mighty Miami Heat. The top team throughout the Regular Season. With vengeance on their mind as well when they got kicked out in the first round last season by rh0xxy's Chicago Bulls. The series goes through 6 games but the Sixers got the last laugh and reached the CSL Finals to everyone's surprise.

All those accomplishment gone to waste when they vowed out to the eventual Champion, the Minnesota Timberwolves in 5 games. 2031 CSL season ended up on a disappointment more than relief for the Philadelphia 76ers.

Excellent season by the Sixers for sure. You were at or near the top of the standings from wire to wire, but also managed to peak at the right time.

Bam's injury in the finals was a really unfortunate ending, but still a wildly successful season. The Monk trade was a masterclass that nearly put you over the top

Like Doug said, a terrific season for you and your team!

The Bam injury is one of the most annoying injuries I can remember. sucks to have you most valuable big men go down when it really counts. Not saying that it would have been enough to stop that well coached and clicking Wolves team, but always has the "what if" with it.

As always your a super active with trading around, I hope you can be this successful again this year, this team deserves to have another go at it!

Excellent season, above where many predicted you would be.

No one can argue, whether it be in Chicago or Philly, that rh0x knows how to build a team that meshes well together getting the most out of them.

You had about as perfect a season in terms of meeting expectations as you could have, and you maneuvered around the Bam injury as best you could. I don't know about stacking up on the perimeter to the extent you have with very little in the post but you have some decent big's, and who am I to judge. Still, I see a trade coming - probably Monk or Mitchell.
