Midway through last season, Clippers GM Jestor vanished. Missed the entire rest of the season as the Red and White stumbled to a third-worst finish and were #blessed to see their pick drop to #6 in the draft. Offseason came and went, still no Jestor. Everyone thought the Clippers would find a new GM. Season dawned, still no move.
"Basically, they gave him the TJ treatment - there's something about teams with red, white, and blue where they think it's patriotic to keep a GM who does nothing, kind of like how the House goes three weeks without a Speaker," said an anonymous source.
And this season, the Clippers are again mired in awfulness. Isaiah Taylor is injured, Kevin Porter Jr has inexplicably been pulled from the lineup, and Santi Aldama missed out on some critical coaching last year after starting to get taught how to correct his game. De'Anthony Melton is mad and sucking more than Stormy Daniels.
The offense is barely cracking 100 points a game while coughing up 108 on the other end. Frank Jackson is the only real 3 point threat on the squad, as the team wants to pound it inside and that's what she said. Good news? The team finally owns its own pick. So hooray for that.
23 and under is what they're looking for in the trade market, wanting to build around Aldama and James Wiseman, plus whoever they pick up in the draft. But given how lazy Jestor-run scouting departments are, who knows if they'll actually put in any work. Then again, the Portland Trailblazers are actually starting the season looking like an actual playoff team with a lot of guys their old GM acquired, so who knows?

It's not like they can do any worse than what's already there. Why everyone loves Marcus Derrickson is one of the great mysteries of the universe, but Frank Vogel keeps running him out there. Birdman Coach probably gets fired at the end of the season, if not sooner.
Oh, and another inside veteran is arriving via trade. Because they don't have enough bigs apparently. But it's just a minimum expiring who will keep the team below the luxury tax and add a 13th body. And it's also a former Jestor guy!
