Rated PG!

In a move that shook up not only the organization but much of the CSL itself, the Orlando Magic acquire Superstar SG Paul George.

Former Pacer Paul George in action

Just minutes into the 2015 CSL Draft that saw the shock of Oklahoma State PG Marcus Smart be taken number one overall by the Brooklyn Nets ahead of highly touted Kansas SF Andrew Wiggins, the Orlando Magic created a shock of their own by sending GF Giannis Antetokounmpo, SF Harrison Barnes, F Aaron Gordon, and SG Zach LaVine to the Indiana Pacers for sensational SG Paul George.

It was a shock... I was really shocked I mean, we just came off a Championship two years ago and a tough six game series against the Detroit Pistons that made it to the Finals this year so I felt we were gonna continue to build to get back to the Finals and win it all again this coming season but I guess it wasn't meant to be... I enjoyed all those guys there, the fans, the city, the organization, the GM goikiri and now I guess it's time to move on... Well they haven't been winning much, they were a hard, tough playing team with alot of younger guys who are trying to learn how to win in this League and now I have to shoulder the responsibility of getting this team into the Playoffs and a championship and I'm ready to do just that... I've spoken to the GM WillyJakkz and he informed me of his vision of the team and my expectations as a leader and I've spoken to Coach Van Gundy and he told me what he expects out of me and I look forward to the challenge...

Reporter: With alot of other guys getting alot of publicity in the League as to who's the best player do you feel like you've been overlooked?

I'm definitely ready to show the League that I'm one of the better players and yeah I feel like I got overlooked in Indiana cause I didn't get all of the hype that some of these other guys have been getting so I'm a work hard and show the media that I'm an elite player, no question... Alright thanks guys appreciate the time...
A two-time All Star starter and All Defense 1st teamer, Paul George averaged 28.1pts, 6rebs, 3.3asts, and 1.8stls in 2014 leading Indiana on their championship run, this past Playoffs in a first round exit to the Eastern Conference Champion Detroit Pistons, George averaged 29.3pts, 10.5rebs, and 5asts and is showing he may possibly the best player in the entire CSL.

Ehhh... I don't want to get all into that but the case could clearly be made that he's one of the best players in the League and in the entire world for that matter... He's a guy who reminds me of another guy I used to coach in Houston by the name of Tracy McGrady and let me tell you something... that's saying alot and Paul with his height and length, his shooting and scoring knack, along with his defense, ball handling, and demeanor makes the game look so effortless to him, it makes the comparison a little too surreal... Well we're certainly looking forward to getting in the reps offensively to gauge where we are as a team and I've been assured that management is still looking towards the future and not rushing into this thing but at the same time building an eventual winner and it all starts with Paul George and it's gonna be a pleasure to coach him...
Image
Well it was just something that had to be done... When I first hired Jeff Van Gundy two years ago I said to him not to worry... I pointed to the TV in my office that was showing Paul George highlights and said, "you see that guy right there... we're gonna get him..." he kinda looked at me unsure if I was serious or playing around right but I told him to have patience, it may take awhile and alot of assets and believe me, we gave up a ton of guys to get him but we got it done... Well yeah we feel he's been one of, if not the best player in the entire CSL and we're gonna do our best to build a team around him and the vision we have set... We'll just have to see, we've got the draft to continue to concentrate on and other possible moves and etc both now and in the future as we will have both cap flexibility and draft picks and young talent as well but we now feel like we have the right player in place to eventually become a contender and a championship winning team...

Great read! I'm honestly torn on this deal. A lot of value was sent for Paul George...but...it's Paul fucking George. So This is a huge deal that we'll have to wait a couple seasons to see who really won this deal.

Yeah I let alot of talent get away but Paul George is locked in for the next 4 seasons on a GREAT contract which is a huge advantage and deciding factor for doing this trade as future max players as well as some current ones will have very very bloated salaries which is gonna start this offseason.

Barnes who I hated trading will be a RFA will get big money thrown his way and perhaps Paul George money which may be his correct price range but also shows what a great contract Paul has as he is severly underpaid but of the 2 at that price I'd easily rather have Paul George.

LaVine though is the one guy I can see really blowing up, tried not to attach all of that talent even Giannis as he excelled at PG but had to do it to get my guy.

You got your star and it's all that matters. I think it was a lot to send but you usually have to do so to get these kind of players.

Actually you got him cheap IMO. Im no fan of Lavine. I think Giannis can become a solid player but nothing special.
I like Barnes though and believe Gordon is a good 4/5th starter. But even them 4 packaged arent worth PG IMO.
