Rebounding + Weight = ?
Does the weight of a player affect their rebounding numbers?
6-9, 220 power forward vs 6-8, 250 power forward with same ratings and same strategies - will one of them grab more? Is it a marginal difference or significant enough to invest time during the offseason?
I think the height affect their ability to rebound but does the weight also?

Re: Rebounding + Weight = ?
Weight and height clearly do. AD is too light to grab as many rebounds as he could, but his STP%, PA/SF, BLKs and STLs may be higher.
Being lighter may mean drawing less contact and shooting poorer %s.

Re: Rebounding + Weight = ?
Probably a very easy thing to test with adjustments to weight.

Re: Rebounding + Weight = ?
There are so many negatives to extra weight i always assumed being heavy improved rebounding/post defense/post offense.

For what it's worth, KD grabbed 9.3 a game this year at 6-9/215.

Durant has an awesome DRB rating of 78 though, which outclasses most SFs. Plus, he is playing an ungodly 43.3 MPG.lakeshowak7 wrote:For what it's worth, KD grabbed 9.3 a game this year at 6-9/215.

Re: Rebounding + Weight = ?
Would love to see that tested somewhere. I did bump Batum's weight at the start of the season though hoping he could become a rebounding threat but...

Re: Rebounding + Weight = ?
Yeah, I've always known heavier weight as more of a negative for players. If someone can test out the benefits of it, then maybe bigger players can have more value.

Re: Rebounding + Weight = ?
Height and strategies affect it. Not sure about weight, TBH.
