Chromebook?

I need to get a new laptop for home use. Primary use would be photo edits, internet. Anybody ever used Chromebook? I like it for speed and cloud storage. Also quite cheap...
I don't have much experience with chromebooks, but my friends who have them definitely like them as secondary computers that they use to take notes in class rather than a main computer.
If the main attraction is price, you can get new laptops as low as $250, and they're not bad at all. My parents got a $250 Toshiba a year ago, and other than their obstinate opposition to Windows 8.1, it's a solid laptop if you're not trying to do video editing or gaming.
