Yea, I don't know if would be such a great idea to readily switch to the new program with us recently switching the league up and some members just acquiring the current program. Though, I wouldn't mind playing around with it and looking into upgrading a couple seasons down the road.

Right now ofc no, but if it is good, and people testing it say it is good, and we have a chance on a good price, then why not after many many many seasons of DDS3

Right now there is nothing but bugs with the new game. Head over to the forums and see how many threads are started daily on bugs and unhandled exceptions that people are getting while playing this game.

We should give Gary a bit of time to fix bugs but I will for sure wait for a stable version before investing any money.
If the game turns to be a new buggy DDPB4, don't count on me to invest 35$

Wont buy it either. And Im sure league wont change in the near future. Gary is a retard. His games are super buggy and he never tries to fix any of them. Even if I, Najira or Jeff put in time to let him know whats going wrong he ignores it.
There is a reason the NLL is changing to FBB.

Good decision. Fbb is a pretty solid sim program. Can't go wrong with it.

I used to be a big proponent for DDS games because I loved the GUI and cleanliness it brought but when you get down to it, we don't play sim engines for the looks. It's all about the down and dirty details under the hood and DDS just doesn't get it done. I haven't bought one of their games since PB3 but it seems like it hasn't improved a bit yet and maybe even has taken a step backward. Truly sad.

I'll be interested to see how FBB works with the NLL but I'm holding out hope that one day Out of the Park Developments comes up with a basketball sim somewhere in the near (~5 years) future.

OOPD Basketball would be sick.
I didn't lose hope for DDPP16 yet. Its only one week and 2 patches were already provided.

I will probably give the game one month and if it doesn't improve I will certainly invest in FBB3 (for solo game - curious about the history mode).

I honestly don't see us leaving PB3 for quite some time. Clearly updating to one of the new DDS engines isn't really an option since they haven't fixed anything.

I hope we stick to DDS3 for some years, at least. If there isn't a clear improvement at any current sim engine, then just stick to what everyone have available right now, and that's DDS3. If some day some developer lanches a great game, really worthy of changing engines, then we consider it. As long as there isn't a clear improvement, I'm very happy with the old, buggy but good DDS3. Specially now that our league has been figuring out those bugs and how to "hide" them, as well as what's wrong with ratings and trying to fix them via next drafts.

We won't be moving from DDS3 anytime soon, so don't worry. There is no perfect engine, but this one works for us and we are all finally starting to figure it out as a group.

Anyone still playing this? I've toyed around with the idea of getting it and playing single player with it to get my fix between sims here and at the NBB. Is it worth the purchase?

And if anyone has an extra license that they aren't using and wouldn't mind swinging it my way, I wouldn't be opposed to that either.
