Towns or Davis

I seen this on the RealGM board. Who would you guys rather build your franchise around? I think i would choose Towns. He looks dominant and is still very young. I think he will be this generation Duncan if he can stay healthy and have the right players and coaches around him.

I'm assuming this was on the PC board over there in which case they are using advanced stats to back up their arguments.

Hard to argue against Towns if you use his small sample size and trajectory.

With that said, give me Davis. He's been misused early in his career and these past two seasons are where he's finally started to be put into his strong spots on the court.

I don't think you can go wrong with either. I think Davis will remain the better player but he has some injury problems.

Davis, just a much bigger record track. He's been great for two years at least, Tyreke was a monster as rookie and never played so well after his rookie season.

I'll take Anthony Davis if I had the 1st pick but you're still a winner if you get pick #2 in this two-man draft.

Towns does look like the right pick for the Wolves this year and will end up being a great player, but AD all day everyday. That guy can bring so much to a team and if the Pelicans could surround him with the right talent (sounds similar to the story in the NLL), they would be a contender every year.

He is only 22 - If he went full scholarship, he would be only a rookie in the NBA this year...

Having said that how about Porzingis instead - dude is going to be a legend...

If Davis can hit 3's, then him. Just because he is already established as a dominant player. Towns is still a project. But I would go with him if he reaches his full potential. But with the way the NBA landscape is changing, a big man to spread the floor is a wonderful assest to have. You add the fact he is a beast on defense and has a low post game. Wow. So I am going to go against what other gm's are saying, and go with Towns(if he reaches his full potential).

He looks good but 7 foot + big men have a history of injury/ foot problems. Hopefully he isn't one of them. I've been following the NBA since 98 and its basically my hobby so I can go on and on about it, and from what I seen at least 30-40% have gotten an injury that has hurt their career.

Towns, no reason other than eye test as they are practically similar just like his passion a little more.
